Gautam Budh Inter College

Our college is out in Shivpuri, which is a small village near Aonla in Bareilly. It’s a quiet place, mostly surrounded by fields and a few houses. We’ve been running Gautam Budh Inter College here for some time. The building is a simple concrete structure. We have several classrooms for the older students. In the mornings, you can hear the birds before the students start arriving from the nearby villages. A lot of them walk quite a distance or come on bicycles. We have a small yard where everyone gathers for the morning assembly. It’s a bit dusty, especially when the wind picks up across the plains of Bareilly. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics like maps on the walls and plenty of benches. The teachers live nearby or commute from the town. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the rain makes the ground muddy and we have to move things around. It's a very local way of life. We know the parents and their families quite well. Most of the day is spent going through the textbooks and preparing for the exams. When the final bell rings, the place clears out fast as everyone heads back to their farms and homes. It’s just a normal school day in a rural area, nothing more, nothing less. We don't have a website or anything, we just focus on the work right here in Shivpuri.
