Ankit Digital Dj & Light Decoration is based out of Fatehganj West in Bareilly, right at the Naugwan Tiraha. It is a busy junction where the Chitauli Road meets the main path. Most of our gear is stored in a small shed that smells like old wires and dust. We spend a lot of time testing speakers and fixing the LED strips that always seem to break after a long night at a party. The roads around here can be quite bumpy, so we have to be really careful when we load the amplifiers onto the rickshaws or the small trucks. It is a local business and most of the people who call us are neighbors or people from the nearby villages. We usually work late into the night, especially during the festival season. There is something about the way the lights look against the dark Bareilly sky that makes all the heavy lifting feel worth it. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts and we have to scramble to get the generator running so the music does not stop. My hands are usually stained with bits of tape or grease from the equipment. It is not a clean job, but it is what we know how to do. We just want the sound to be clear and the lights to stay bright for whoever is celebrating that night.
