Gujarat State Cooperative Fruit & Vegetable Marketing Federation Ltd

This federation is based out of Bardoli at number 43. We are a cooperative, which basically means we work with a lot of different farmers around the Gujarat area. It’s not a private business owned by one person. Our main job is to help get fruits and vegetables from the fields to the places where they can be sold. The office in Bardoli is often a bit chaotic with crates moving around and people talking about crop prices and transport. It’s not a polished corporate environment. You’ll see people in muddy boots and hear a lot of talk about the weather and the harvest. We deal with the practical side of farming, like making sure things don't rot before they get to market. It’s a lot of coordination and phone calls. We’ve been doing this for quite some time now, and we’ve seen good years and bad years with the rain. There’s no flashy marketing here, just a lot of logistics and trying to make sure the produce gets moved properly. Sometimes the trucks are late or the harvest is smaller than we thought. We just deal with those problems as they come up. It's a group effort to keep the local food moving through the system. We keep track of everything on paper and a few old computers that still work.
