Kazi Fabrication

Kazi Fabrication is based out in Panagarh, right near the Panagarh Bazar Post Office in the Burdwan district. Being so close to the post office means there is always something going on nearby and people are constantly passing by our doors. We do a lot of metal work here, mostly cutting and welding things together. The smell of burnt metal is pretty much always in the air around the shop. It’s not a clean job, but we don’t mind getting our hands dirty every single day. The floor is usually covered in scraps and dust from the grinders, but we sweep it up when we can. We have a few old machines that have seen better days, yet they still work just fine for what we need. When it rains hard in Burdwan, the sound on our metal roof is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk, so we just keep our heads down and work. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just a place where you can get things made. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so we all know each other well. We share food and help each other out when a heavy piece of iron needs moving. It’s a basic setup at Panagarh, but it works for us. We just take it one day at a time and see what needs doing next. There's always a pile of metal waiting in the corner for tomorrow morning.
