New Pathayan

New Pathayan is situated at Bhadra Bari More in the Navapally area. We are in the 700126 part of Kolkata, which is a fairly active neighborhood with lots of small shops and houses packed together. A good way to find us is to look for the Deshopriyo Udbasto Prathomik Vidyalaya, which is a primary school right nearby. Having the school there makes the whole area feel very much about education and kids. Our building is right on the corner, and it is a bit of a local landmark for the people who live in Navapally. The space inside is quite cramped because we have tried to fit in as many bookshelves as possible. It smells a bit like old paper and ink, which I suppose is normal for a place like this. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns being here. The floor is made of old tiles and some of them are a bit cracked, but nobody really minds. We get a lot of foot traffic from the nearby school, especially in the early afternoon when classes let out. It is a very community-focused spot. We do not do much advertising; people just know we are here at Bhadra Bari More. It is a bit noisy when the school bells go off, but otherwise, it is a nice enough place to spend the day. We just keep things simple and try to help out whoever walks through the door.
