Chandra Choodaya Jyothishyalaya

Chandra Choodaya Jyothishyalaya is right on Kalyan Nagar Vaishnao Devi Mata Mandir Road at number 174 1. It is very close to the temple, so we hear the bells ringing throughout the day. It is a peaceful spot most of the time. The office is filled with the smell of incense and old paper. We have some low tables and mats on the floor where we sit. Most of the work involves looking at charts and talking to people about their lives. It is a lot of listening. The road outside can get busy during festival times, but inside it stays relatively calm. We have been here for a while, and the walls have a few cracks that we have just gotten used to. There is a small lamp that stays lit near the entrance. People come from all over the area to sit and talk with us. We don't have a big sign outside, just enough for people to find the right door. Sometimes we share a meal in the back room when things are slow. It is a very traditional way of doing things. No one is in a huge rush here. We take the time to look through everything carefully. It is just our daily rhythm. The temple nearby brings a lot of people past our door, and we see the seasons change through the front window. It feels right being here.
