Our spot is at A-35 in the New Gunj Bazar on Dairy Road. It is a lively place to be, especially on market days when everyone is shouting and moving goods around the street. Idrishbhai Mahmadbhai & Co. is a name that people in this area recognize. We deal with a lot of local trade and the office is basically a hub for all the people coming in and out of the bazar. It is not a quiet place at all. You can hear the trucks on Dairy Road and the sounds of the other stalls nearby all day long. We have stacks of old records and ledgers because we still like to keep track of things clearly on paper. The shop floor is often full of bags or wooden crates, depending on what we are moving that week. We do not have a big corporate structure here. It is more about the people who have been working together for many years. We know our neighbors in the bazar and we usually help each other out when someone needs a hand with a heavy load or a delivery. It is a very human way of doing business. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the accounts while the rest of the market is closing down. It is hard work and your feet usually ache by the end of the day, but it is what we know. We just try to be fair and get the work done right.
