D N P Girls High School is located in Deesa, which is in the Banaskantha area. It is specifically for girls, which is important for the families around here. The school is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. There are different wings that have been added over the years. Deesa is known for its heat and its potatoes, and we definitely feel the heat in the afternoons. The classrooms are full of girls in their uniforms, and it can get quite loud during the breaks. We have a small garden area, but it’s hard to keep things green in this climate. The staff is mostly women, and we spend our time managing the classes and the various government schemes we have to carry out. The furniture is mostly metal and wood, and it’s seen a lot of use. We don't have a lot of extra space, so every corner is used for something, whether it’s storing old desks or keeping the sports gear. The entrance is right on a busy street, so we have to be careful when the girls are leaving for the day. It’s a lot of work to keep a school like this running smoothly. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls, just the daily schedule and maybe some drawings the students did. It’s a real, working school. It is not always easy, but it is the job we do. We just focus on the lessons and keeping the place going.
