Wardlaw Comp. Pre-University College

Our college is on Kalamma Street in Bellary. If you walk down the road past the local shops, you will see our gate. The 583201 area is quite busy during the day. We have been in this building for quite a while now. It’s a pre-university college, so we have a lot of teenagers around. The sun gets really strong in Bellary. We have high ceilings to keep the rooms from getting too stuffy. The floors are old stone and they stay cool. We don't have a huge staff. Just a few of us who have lived here for years. We handle everything from the paperwork to making sure the chalk is stocked up. It's not a polished place with shiny glass walls. It’s more of an old-fashioned school environment. You can hear the sounds of the street from the classrooms. Sometimes a stray dog wanders into the courtyard and we have to shoo it out. We don't go for anything flashy or expensive. We just open the doors at the same time every morning. The students park their cycles in the shade of the big tree out front. We spend our afternoons in the office catching up on grading. It's a simple life. We like the rhythm of the school year. It keeps us busy without being too stressful. It is just a local spot where people come to learn.
