Uma Flayar Bricks

Uma Flayar Bricks is over in Tulsi Nagar, Sudpara in Balangir. It's right near the Government Ayurved College and Hospital. We do fly ash bricks here, which is a bit different from the old clay ones. We mix the ash and set it into blocks. The yard gets a bit grey from the dust but that's how it goes in this line of work. People in Balangir know the spot because of the college nearby. We started this because there was a need for more building materials in the area. It’s just a regular yard with stacks of bricks everywhere. Some days are busier than others. We get the raw materials delivered and then we get to work pressing them into shape. They have to sit and cure for a while before anyone can use them. We have a few guys working the machines. It’s noisy sometimes. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything. Just the bricks and the gate. If you are coming from the college side, you’ll see us easily. We deal with local contractors mostly. They know we are okay to deal with. The weather doesn't bother us as much as the clay brick guys since we have some cover. We just keep the production line moving as best as we can. It’s a practical business for a place like Sudpara. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making bricks for people who need them and keeping the yard organized.
