Sri Sai Ram Granites

Sri Sai Ram Granites is situated at 19-12-7 on Old Municipality Road in Hungund. It’s an older part of town, and the road has its own character. We’ve been here for a bit, just doing our thing with the stone. The yard is where we spend most of our time, and it’s usually covered in a fine layer of grey dust from the cutting. We try to keep it clean, but it’s a losing battle most days. People come in looking for pieces for their homes, and we just walk them around the stacks of granite. Some of the slabs are really beautiful when the sun hits them, showing all the little flecks in the rock. We don’t talk much about "missions" or anything like that; we just focus on getting the slabs loaded onto the trucks without any accidents. It’s heavy work and it takes a couple of us to move the bigger pieces safely. Hungund is a nice enough place to have a business. We know the other shop owners on Old Municipality Road, and we often share a tea or talk about the weather while we’re waiting for customers to show up. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but physically it’s pretty demanding. We just keep our heads down and handle the stone as it comes in from the quarries. There’s always something that needs measuring or a slab that needs moving to make space.
