Our place is at Plot No. 6 on Balkundi Road, right in Ilkal City. If you know Hulgund Taluka, then you know this whole area is famous for granite. We set up our yard here because it is close to where all the action happens. It is an industrial spot, so do not expect anything too shiny or polished when you visit. We have machines running most of the time, and there is usually the constant sound of stone being cut or moved around by the crane. It gets pretty loud. We spend our days mostly in the yard or in the small office we built on the plot. We deal with a lot of granite blocks and slabs, mostly local stuff that comes from the ground around Ilkal. People come by to look at the colors and the grains of the stone before they buy. We do not have a marketing person or a fancy website. Most of our work comes from people just knowing we are here on Balkundi Road. The dust is a constant thing, so we are always washing down the slabs so people can see the real color and patterns. It is hard work on the back, but we are used to it by now. We have a small crew of guys who have been with us since we started. We just focus on getting the slabs cut right and loaded onto the trucks without any fuss.
