If you ever find yourself out here in Village Katui, you might hear us before you see us. We are based right in Post Vijaypar in Bilariya Ganj. It is a bit of a drive from the main Azamgarh area, but we’ve been here for a while now. Most days are pretty much the same. We handle a lot of stone work. It is dusty and loud, but that is just how the business is. People come by asking about prices or looking at what we have sitting in the yard. We aren't a big fancy office with glass doors. It’s more of a place where you come to get things done and get on with your day. The road can be a bit rough during the rains, which makes moving the stones a real headache. My cousin helps with the paperwork and I usually stay outside making sure the trucks get loaded right. We don't have a big team, just a few local guys who know the work. Sometimes it's hard to find help when the harvest season starts in the village because everyone goes back to the fields. That's just how life goes in this part of Uttar Pradesh. We don't do much advertising. Usually, it's just someone telling their neighbor that Deewan Stones is still operating out here. We keep the gate open most of the day unless it’s a holiday. Sometimes we close early if there is a wedding in the village.
