Lohiya Chieldren Hospital

You can find us at 15 Samadhan Colony in the Kokanwadi area. Being a children's hospital, it is rarely quiet around here. There is usually the sound of a baby crying or kids playing with the few toys we keep in the corner of the waiting room. We have been operating out of this building for a long time. Samadhan Colony is a nice enough place, mostly residential, so we see a lot of families who just walk over from their houses. We deal with all the usual stuff like fevers, stomach aches, and vaccinations. The walls have some faded posters on them to give the kids something to look at while the doctor checks them over. It gets pretty cramped when three or four families are waiting at once. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a simple desk and some benches. I spend a lot of time organizing files and making sure the thermometers are ready. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit muddy, but people still make it in. We aren't trying to be the biggest hospital in the city. We just want to be a reliable place for the parents in Kokanwadi. It’s a lot of work and some days are longer than others, especially during flu season. But we just keep at it, one kid at a time, making sure they get what they need before they go home.
