You can find Kimaya Enterprise at Shop No. 31 inside Nyati Estate. Ambhai is a decent place to be, and the estate itself has a lot going on most days. Our shop isn't the biggest one in the block, but it fits everything we need. We’ve got shelves lining the walls, mostly filled with the various things we deal with day-to-day. It’s a bit cramped if more than three people are standing inside at once, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time organizing the stock and making sure we haven't misplaced any invoices. The floor is a bit uneven in the back corner, so we had to put a piece of folded cardboard under one of the tables to keep it from wobbling. It’s those little things you just deal with when you’re running a small place. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us here, opening up the shutters in the morning and staying until the work is done. Usually, the afternoons are the busiest when people are out running errands in Ambhai. We like the rhythm of the estate. You get to know the other shop owners and the people who live nearby. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but there is always something to count or a phone call to take. We just keep our heads down and handle the business as it comes through the door. It’s practical and keeps us occupied.
