Hotel Raviraj

This spot on Dr. Rajendra Prasad Marg has been around for some time. Being on Court Road means we get a lot of people in suits coming by during the day. It’s usually loud outside with all the honking and the crowds heading toward the offices. We’re right here in the 431001 area, which stays active until late. The building has some age to it, so the walls have a few scuffs here and there. We don’t mind it much. My brother handles the morning shift while I take over in the evenings. We serve tea in the lobby, and usually, someone is sitting there reading the newspaper for hours. It’s not a big corporate place. We know most of the shopkeepers on the street by their first names. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we have a generator that kicks in eventually. The rooms are simple with beds that are firm. We don’t do fancy decorations or anything. It’s just a place to sleep if you have business at the court or nearby. The plumbing makes a little noise sometimes when the neighbor upstairs uses their sink. We keep things moving and try to make sure nobody waits too long at the desk. Most nights it’s just the sound of the ceiling fans spinning. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the laundry and fixing what breaks.
