Excel Institute Of Mechanics

This place in Fazalpura is where we spend our whole day. It is an institute for mechanics, so things stay pretty greasy around here. We have some old engines in the back that the students take apart and put back together hundreds of times. It gets really loud when everyone is using their tools at once. By noon, I usually have black oil under my fingernails. This is definitely not a clean office job. We talk about gears and brakes and how stuff works under the hood. Some of the guys who show up are just starting out and do not even know what a socket wrench is. Others have worked in small garages before but want to learn about the newer engines. We have a few workbenches and some old stools that shake when you sit on them. The fan in the corner makes a loud clicking sound, but we just ignore it now. Fazalpura is a decent spot for us because people can find it easily enough. We do not bother with a big fancy sign. We just have the tools and the space to work. Sometimes we stay late because a student is stuck on a problem. It is practical work. You learn by getting your hands dirty here, not by reading a thick book. The tea guy comes by around four and we take a quick break for a few minutes. Then it is back to the grease.
