We are right on G.T. Road in Asansol, not far from the post office. Being in the Bardhwan district means we're in the middle of a lot of industrial activity and heavy traffic. We don't make your typical red house bricks here; we mostly make refractories, which is just a way to say stuff that can handle a lot of heat without melting. The work is a bit more technical than just digging mud, but it’s still a gritty, hands-on job for everyone here. The G.T. Road is always busy with noise, so there’s a constant hum of truck engines in the background while we work on the floor. We have a small team here, and most of us have been doing this for years now. It’s hot work, especially around the high-temperature furnaces we have to use. We don't have a flashy showroom for people to walk through. Most people just come into the small front office or meet us out in the yard to talk about what they need for their industrial kilns or furnaces. We try to stay organized, but with all the heavy materials moving around, things can get a bit cluttered and messy. It's an honest living in a tough town. We just focus on getting the chemical mix right so the materials don't fail when the heat gets turned up high. It’s not a glamorous job at all.
