We are out here in Village Dhasna, near Bahadurpur. It’s a bit of a trek to get to the site, especially if the weather has been bad. The plant is quite large and you can see the smoke from a distance sometimes. We handle power and steel, so there is always something going on 24 hours a day. It’s a heavy industrial place, not a quiet office. The workers come in shifts from the surrounding areas like Jamuria and Burdwan. It’s a lot of heat and noise. I spend most of my time walking between the different sections making sure the machines are running okay. We have a lot of trucks coming and going, bringing in raw materials and taking out the finished stuff. The dust around the village is part of life here. It’s not the cleanest job, but it’s what we do. We’ve got a lot of people employed from the local villages, so everyone knows everyone else. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to stay late to fix it. It's just part of the grind. We don't have fancy brochures or a glossy reception area. It’s just a big, working industrial site in the middle of the countryside. We focus on the output and the daily tasks. It’s a tough environment, but we’re used to the heat and the constant hum of the power units.
