Out here in Peraiyur Village, things move at a different pace than in the big cities. Our group, Tniamp 2019-20 Perambalur Vellar Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based at No 7/30, A, right in the heart of the village in Veppanthattai Taluk. Most of the folks involved are local farmers from around Perambalur who have been tilling the land for generations. We came together because it made more sense than trying to handle everything alone. The Vellar area has its own rhythm, and we just try to keep up with it. Our office is a modest building where we meet to discuss what we are going to plant or how to deal with the latest market prices. It’s usually a bit dusty, and there is always someone coming in with a question about their crops. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. It’s mostly about seeds, fertilizers, and hoping the monsoon is kind to us this year. Being a producer company means we share the load. Some days are spent traveling between the different fields in the taluk, checking on how things are growing. It's practical work. We’ve got a lot of families involved, and we all know each other's names. It’s just life in Peraiyur, working the land and trying to make a decent living out of it together through the year.
