Doshi & Doshi Mount Road 1

This branch of ours is over on Blackers Road, right next to the Casino Theatre. If you know Mount Road, you know how packed this little stretch gets. Being at No 3 means we are right in the middle of all the action. People are always coming and going for the movies, so there is never a quiet moment. It’s an old part of the city, and the building feels like it’s seen a lot of history. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the noise from the theatre crowds anymore. Parking can be a real headache around here, so most of our visitors just walk over from the main road. The shop is simple. We didn’t spend much on making it look like a showroom because that’s not really who we are. We just keep our shelves stocked and try to stay organized. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. Sometimes when a big movie releases next door, it’s hard to even get to the front door, but we like the energy. It feels like a real part of Madras. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the ropes. If you’re looking for us, just find the theatre and look to the side. We’re usually there from early morning until late evening, just doing our thing. It’s a straightforward setup and we like it that way.
