Shivalheri Flour Mill

Shivalheri Flour Mill is located on Rajpipla Road, right inside Sunder Residency in the Hifazat Nagar area. It’s a bit more of a residential spot than some other mills, so we know most of the people who come in. They live in the apartments nearby or just down the road. We have a couple of grinders that run pretty much from dawn until the evening. The sound is a constant hum that the neighbors have probably gotten used to by now. Inside, it's just a simple room. We have the bags stacked up according to who brought them. I try to keep a system so nothing gets lost, but it’s just me and a few notebooks. No computers here. The Rajpipla Road traffic is always moving outside the door. Sometimes people stop their cars right in front, hop out with a sack of grain, and ask how long it’ll be. I usually tell them to come back after an hour. The flour is always warm when it comes out of the machine. That’s how you know it’s fresh. I spend a lot of time sweeping, though it feels like the dust just comes right back a minute later. It’s a quiet life in a way, even with the noise of the machines. Just grinding grain and helping the local families get their flour ready for dinner. We stay open late enough for people to stop by after work.
