Uma Marble Stone Industries is over at Plot No. 5601-3. We are right across from Miranda Tools, so if you find them, you’ve found us. The first thing you will notice is the white dust that covers everything, including the trees outside. Cutting stone is a messy business, and there is no way around the water and the slurry that gets on your boots. We have different slabs of marble and stone leaning against the walls and stacked in the yard. Some are rough and some are half-polished. The sound of the saws is pretty constant from morning until evening. It’s a heavy job, and we spend a lot of time moving things around with the crane. The guys who work here have strong backs and they don't mind the noise. We don’t have a polished showroom with lights and mirrors. You just come to the yard and look at the raw stone under the sun. That’s the best way to see the colors anyway. We’ve been at this plot for quite a while now. The office is just a tiny room where we keep the ledger and the measuring tapes. We don’t go in for big marketing talk. People come to us because they need stone for a floor or a counter, and we show them what we have in stock. It’s a straightforward way to run a business without any unnecessary complications.
