At Plot No. 3708, the days are pretty much the same. We arrive, check the schedule, and start the reactors. Working with drug intermediates means we have to be careful about everything. There are a lot of valves to turn and gauges to monitor. The building isn't brand new, so there are always small things to fix, like a leaky tap or a flickering light in the hallway. We don't spend money on fancy furniture for the office. Most of the budget goes into the raw materials we need. The yard has some empty drums stacked up in the corner waiting to be picked up. It’s a dusty place because of the nearby construction and the wind. We eat our lunch together in the small break area. Sometimes we talk about the cricket match or the weather. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making the products that were ordered. The paperwork is the worst part, but it has to be done.
