Tata Steel Limited

Our place is in Flat 26 at the Joda West Lower Camp. If you know the Tisco area in Joda, we are right in the middle of that. It is out in the Keonjhar district of Orissa. This isn't some high-rise glass building. It is a regular flat where we manage the local operations for Tata Steel Limited. The camp has its own rhythm and we are very much part of it. Living and working here means you see the same faces every day, which is nice. We handle the logistical side of things, making sure the paperwork for the mining and transport stuff stays organized. It can get dusty and the weather is often quite hot, but that is just how it is in this part of Orissa. We’ve been based out of this P.O Joda location for quite some time. The team here is small. We don't use big words or have complicated ways of doing things. We just get the tasks finished. If a truck is late or a form is missing, we are the ones who sort it out. It’s practical work. We don't really have a front desk or a lobby, just our work area in the flat. It works for us because we are close to where the actual action is happening. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the day-to-day requirements.
