Salbani G.P.(Junior) College

Down here in Salabani, Keonjhar, you’ll find us at Salbani G.P.(Junior) College. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the bigger cities, and we like it that way. We mostly serve the young people from the surrounding villages who need to finish their junior college years. It’s a modest place, really. We have the basic classrooms and a small office where we handle all the paperwork. Most of us who work here have lived in Odisha our whole lives, so we know the local needs. The students arrive by various means, some walking a good distance, and we make sure the doors are open for them. We don't have fancy equipment, but we have enough to get the teaching done properly. Our days are filled with the sound of lectures and the occasional bird outside the window. We try to keep the place tidy, though with so many students coming through, there’s always a bit of dust. We focus on the state board curriculum and try to help the kids get ready for their exams. It’s a straightforward life here. We aren't looking for awards; we just want to see these kids get their diplomas so they can help their families or go off to further studies. It’s a community effort, and we’re glad to be a part of it. We keep our heads down and focus on the lessons every day, making sure everyone has what they need to succeed in their upcoming exams.
