If you walk down Valisab Road in Kadiri, you’ll eventually run into our place at 2-11-77. Sk Cement Bricks Factory isn't a massive industrial complex. It’s more of a local workshop where we spend our hours mixing cement and making sure the molds are set right. The machines make a lot of noise, so we end up shouting to hear each other over the hum and the clanking. It’s heavy work. Lifting these cement bricks all day is tough on the back, but you get used to it after the first few months. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. If people need bricks, they usually just show up or send a message. Sometimes the power goes out in Kadiri, and then everything just stops. We sit around, have some tea, and wait for the lights to come back on so we can finish the day's batch. It’s frustrating but there isn't much you can do about it. The dust from the cement gets everywhere, into your clothes and even your hair. We try to keep the place organized but with trucks coming in and out, it’s a constant battle. We focus on getting the orders out to the local builders who are working on the shops and houses nearby. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It is better than being stuck in a small office.
