We’ve been here at 102 Fr. Atmaram Merchant Road for a really long time now. Most people around Anant Wadi know the building, even if they don’t always stop in. My grandfather started Rajnarayan Jwalaprasad & Sons back when the streets looked a lot different. Nowadays, it’s mostly just us handling the daily stuff, moving boxes, and talking to the regulars who have been coming around for years. It gets pretty busy in the mornings when the traffic picks up outside. We keep things pretty simple here. There’s a lot of paperwork piled up on the old desk, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we always get there in the end. The shop isn't fancy or anything. It has that smell of old paper and dust that you only get in places that have been around a while. We don't really do the whole internet thing much, we just prefer talking to people face-to-face. Sometimes the neighbors drop by just to chat for a bit while we’re organizing the stock. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the inventory, but it works for us. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down. Working here feels like being part of the street itself. It’s just what we do every day, keeping the family name going and making sure we stay busy. Nothing more to it than that. I usually spend the last hour of the day sweeping the front.
