K.V. Computer

We are located at No. 46A on Sahib Jujhar Singh Avenue. It’s right off the Gumtala Link Road, not too far from the Airport Road area. At K.V. Computer, we mostly deal with the dust that comes off the main road and settles on all our equipment. Being near the airport means we hear the planes overhead all the time. The shop is a small place, packed with old keyboards, motherboards, and boxes of screws that we’ve collected over the years. It’s usually just a couple of us here, hunched over a desk with a screwdriver. We don’t have a big sign or anything too noticeable, just the address on the door in Gumtala. The floor is concrete and stays a bit cold in the winter. We spend a lot of time waiting for files to load or trying to figure out why a power supply blew out. It’s not a clean or shiny environment; there are parts and pieces of computers everywhere you look. Most of the people who come in are neighbors or folks who live nearby on Sahib Jujhar Singh Avenue. They bring in their machines when they stop working, and we see what we can do. It’s a lot of trial and error some days. We just keep the shop open and do the work as it comes in, trying to stay organized in the middle of all the computer clutter.
