Hari Gachak Bhandar

Welcome to Hari Gachak Bhandar. Our shop is at Chowk Farid in the Katra Sher Singh area of Amritsar. We are quite close to the Axis Bank, which makes it easy for people to find us. Amritsar gets really cold in the winter, and that is when things get really busy for us here. The smell of jaggery and peanuts is always in the air around our spot. I spend a lot of time packing the gachak into boxes for customers. We have been in Katra Sher Singh for a long time. The address is 143006 if you need the exact pincode. It is a small shop, and the walls are lined with tins. I don't believe in making things look too modern or polished. I prefer the way it has always been since I was young. People stop by after they finish their work at the bank or while they are just walking through Chowk Farid. I usually have a radio playing in the corner. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a cart or a rickshaw, but that is normal for Amritsar. My hands are usually a bit sticky from the sweets, but I keep the glass counter clean. It is a family thing, really. My father sat here before me for many years. We just focus on making the gachak and selling it to whoever comes by. It is a simple life and we like being part of this old neighborhood near the bank.
