Vidya Niketan Public School

Our school, Vidya Niketan Public School, sits right along State Highway 21 in the village of Palli. It’s a convenient spot for the buses and families coming from the nearby areas. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The building is pretty straightforward and we keep it up as much as we can. Being on the highway means it can get a bit dusty sometimes, but we are used to it. The kids come from all over the village and some of the smaller settlements nearby. We have a playground out back where they spend most of their break time running around. It is mostly local teachers working here who know the parents by name. We don't have a lot of the high-tech stuff you see in big cities, but the desks are solid and the blackboards work just fine. We mostly stick to the regular subjects and try to make sure everyone gets their homework done. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we have to adjust things, but that’s just living in this part of the country. People know us as the school on the main road. It’s not a complicated place to run. We just open the gates in the morning and get to work with the students. It feels like a part of the village life here in Palli. We just want the kids to learn what they need so they can do well for themselves later on.
