Shree Balaji Steels

Our place, Shree Balaji Steels, is tucked away behind Kukar Majra Road. It's right near the Gurudwara, so you can usually hear the prayers when the wind is right. We’ve got a lot of steel sitting in the yard. It's heavy stuff and moving it around takes up most of our morning. We aren't right on the main street, so it’s a bit quieter than some other shops, but people still find us. The road gets dusty in the summer, and we spend a lot of time cleaning off the desks and the chairs. We just sell steel. Mostly to builders or guys doing small projects in the neighborhood. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a small room with a table where we write out the bills by hand. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time turning around because the space is tight, but we make it work. It's a family thing, mostly. We show up, see what's needed, and get to it. You might have to wait a minute if we're out back loading a trailer for someone. We try to keep things straight and just tell people what we actually have in stock. If it’s not there, we tell them. That’s how we’ve always done things here near the Gurudwara. It’s a decent living and we like the people who live around here. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
