Golden Public School is right there on the NH-22, specifically at the Chandigarh Ambala Highway junction with NH-21 in Ambala. Being near the highway means there is almost always the sound of trucks and cars passing by in the background. It is a very busy spot. The school has a gate that stays closed most of the day to keep the noise and the dust out. In the winter, the fog in Ambala gets really thick, and you can barely see the highway from the school windows. Our building is a sturdy concrete structure that has seen better days, but it does its job. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff like blackboards, wooden benches, and charts pinned to the walls. We have a group of teachers who travel in from different parts of Ambala every morning. The playground is okay, though the grass gets a bit dry in the summer months. We do not have a lot of fancy technology in every room; we mostly rely on books and talking to the students. It is a straightforward kind of place where we follow the syllabus and prepare for the board exams. Sometimes the water pressure in the toilets is low, or a lightbulb flickers and needs changing. It is just a normal school where people work hard and the kids grow up. We have been at this highway location for a long time now.
