Chaman Vatika Residential Public School

You can find us right on the Ambala-Chandigarh Highway near Kakru. Being a residential school, the place is always active, even at night. We have students who stay here throughout the term, so it’s like a big family living together. The highway outside is always busy with trucks and cars going between the two cities, but inside the gates, it’s much calmer. We have big open spaces for the kids to run and play sports. The dorms are simple and kept as neat as you can expect with a bunch of young people living in them. We have a kitchen that runs almost all day to keep everyone fed. It’s a lot of work keeping things running and making sure everyone is where they should be. The weather out here can get quite cold in the winter, so everyone wraps up in heavy sweaters. We have a few flower beds near the main entrance that the groundskeeper looks after. It’s not a fancy resort, just a school where kids come to learn and live. The teachers often live on-site too, so we see each other at meals. It’s a bit of a trek to get into the main city, but we have what we need here. Sometimes we have weekend events on the grass like a small cricket match or a bonfire. It’s a straightforward way of life, focused on the students and their daily routines.
