You can find us at F-79 in the RIICO Industrial Area. Being in an industrial zone means we are surrounded by other factories and warehouses, so it’s never really quiet around here. At Shri Bandhu Food Products, we spend our days making sure the machines are running and the ingredients are fresh. The air inside our unit usually smells like spices or whatever we are processing that day. It’s a heavy, warm smell that stays on your clothes even after you go home. We have a small team of workers who know the machines inside and out. It’s hard work, standing on your feet and making sure the packaging is straight and the seals are tight. We don’t have a fancy front office; if you come to visit, you’ll probably walk straight into the production area where all the noise is. There’s always a forklift moving somewhere nearby or a truck backing up to the loading dock. We try to keep the place as clean as possible, but it’s an industrial kitchen, so there’s always something to scrub or mop. We’ve been here in RIICO for a while now, and we’ve gotten used to the heat and the constant hum of the power lines. It’s not a glamorous job, but we take pride in the bags and boxes that go out the door every evening. It’s just us, making food products the best way we know how.
