If you head out to the Chopanki Industrial Area, you’ll find us at the G-477 to 479 A block. It’s a big space, which we need for all the equipment and the seeds we work with. The industrial area is always noisy with trucks and machines, but once you step inside our gates, it gets a bit quieter. We spend a lot of our time in the lab or out in the storage bays. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit; most of us are in jeans and sturdy shoes because there’s always something to move or check on. The commute out here can be a bit long depending on where you live, so we usually have a late lunch together. There’s a small canteen nearby that makes decent dal. Our desks are usually covered in notebooks and samples. We focus on the genetics side of farming, which means a lot of waiting and watching things grow. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit outside and talk until it comes back on. It’s a simple life out here in Chopanki. We’ve been in this spot for a few years, and we’ve slowly filled up all three of the units. It’s a lot of work to keep it organized, but we manage. We aren't big on decorations, just a few calendars on the wall to track the months.
