Master Bricks

Master Bricks is based in Village Singhota, which is part of the Laxmangarh Tehsil. It is a quiet area mostly, except for when we are running the machinery. We have a lot of space out here in the village to spread things out. The bricks dry in the open air, and we just have to hope the goats from the neighbor's place don't walk over them while they are still soft. That has happened a few times and it is always a mess to fix. We use the local earth and follow the old ways of doing things because that is what we know. It is not a high-tech setup. We have some old sheds and a lot of open ground. People in Laxmangarh know us as the place to go when they are adding a room to their house or building a new wall for their farm. My clothes are always stained with that earthy color, and I think I have forgotten what it is like to have clean boots. We spend the days counting bricks and watching the horizon for rain clouds. It is a basic way to make a living, but it keeps us going. We don't have any missions or big goals other than finishing the current batch and getting it sold. It is just honest, heavy work that needs to be done. The village life is slow, and we just fit right into that rhythm with our daily chores at the yard.
