Running this Kidzee center on Vijay Mandir Road here in Alwar is definitely a noisy job. If you walk past our building in the morning, you can hear the children singing or just shouting while they play. We have been in this spot for a good while and people in the neighborhood know us. The classrooms are filled with toys and colorful drawings that the kids made themselves. It’s not like a big serious office; it’s more like a chaotic home sometimes. Alwar gets really hot in the summer months, so we have to make sure the fans are always going and the kids stay cool. The parents drop them off at the gate and we take it from there. Some of the little ones cry on their first few days, but they eventually find a friend to play with. Vijay Mandir Road is quite busy with traffic, so we are very careful about the gate and making sure nobody wanders out. We spend a lot of time teaching them the basics like colors and numbers, but mostly it's about them learning how to get along with each other. We don't have a lot of fancy staff, just a few of us who really like working with children. Sometimes we get tired of the constant energy, but seeing them learn something new is okay. It’s a simple life running a preschool in a town like this.
