Ajay & Co.

Our place, Ajay & Co., is located at number 38 in the Saray Kazi mohalla of Atrauli. Being in Aligarh, we are right in the middle of a lot of activity. We’ve been at this specific spot for years. The shop is a bit small, and we have boxes stacked up high sometimes, but we know where everything is. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We don't really have a big marketing plan. Most people just walk in because they were passing by or their neighbor told them to come here. We have an old calendar on the wall from three years ago that nobody has bothered to take down. It’s got a nice picture of a temple on it, so we just leave it there. It makes the place feel more like home. We aren't big on decorating or changing things if they aren't broken. We try to keep our prices where they should be without any fuss. The tea stall nearby is where we usually take our breaks and catch up on the local news. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't use any fancy language or try to sound more important than we are. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the world go by from the doorway. Other days, we don't even have time to sit down.
