Maruti Driving School

We are located over in Prayikkara, right here in Mavelikara. It’s a busy enough spot, especially with the traffic coming through Alappuzha. Our days are mostly spent in the driver's seat or the passenger side, watching people try to figure out the clutch and the brake without stalling. We have the dual-control cars, which saves us a lot of trouble on the narrow roads around here. It’s not a fancy office; we mostly have some benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. We talk a lot about road signs and how to handle the curves near the town center. Some students are really nervous when they first start, so we spend a lot of time just chatting to calm them down. It’s quite a feeling when someone finally gets their license after a few tries. We know the local traffic police and the RTO guys because we’re down there so often. The office gets a bit dusty from the road, but we try to keep it tidy. We don't use big fancy words to explain things. We just show you how to park, how to look in the mirrors, and how to stay safe. It’s a practical job. We take the cars out early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and keep going until the light fades. We end up drinking a lot of tea between sessions.
