About Shree Balaji Brick Industries – Building & Construction Material in Akola
Our place is located at Post-Andura in the Taluka-Telhara area. It is a quiet spot, mostly surrounded by fields and small farms. We focus on making bricks from the local soil we get around here. The process is pretty much the same as it has always been for generations. We mix the mud, mold it by hand or simple machines, and let it dry in the sun before it goes into the kiln. It takes a lot of patience because you can't rush the drying part. If you do, the bricks just crack and become useless waste. We have some basic sheds for the workers and a small area where we keep the finished stacks waiting for buyers. Usually, people from the nearby villages come to us when they are putting up a wall or a small house for their families. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth mostly does the trick in a place like Telhara. The sun can get really hot during the day, which is actually good for the bricks but tough on the guys working the yard. We start the work very early in the morning to beat the heat. By midday, everyone is usually taking a break under the trees near the edge of the property. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We handle the orders as they come in and try to stay organized with the deliveries. It gets pretty muddy during the monsoon, so we have to plan carefully around the weather seasons.
