Maharashtra Hardware

Maharashtra Hardware is located on Akot Road in the Ashok Nagar area of Akola. We are really easy to find because the police station is right nearby. Most days are pretty much the same here. We open up the shop and start moving some of the heavier items out front so people can see we are open. It gets quite hot in Akola during the summer months, so we usually have the fans going full blast. There is always a layer of dust on the shelves no matter how much we clean. People from the neighborhood stop by for small things like nails or a new hammer. We spend a lot of time counting out small parts and putting them into bags. It is a simple life and the work is steady. Sometimes we stand out by the road and watch the trucks go by towards the police station. The tea stall down the street brings us chai in the afternoon. We have been in this spot for a long time now. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things we have collected over the years. It is a bit crowded inside but we know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific bolt, we can usually find it in a minute or two. It is just a regular hardware store run by people who live right here in town.
