Vandana Emporium

Vandana Emporium is located in the New Market area near Madar Gate. Even though it's called New Market, the area has been around for quite a while now and has a lot of history in its bricks. Our shop is one of many in this long stretch of businesses, and we’ve been here long enough that the local kids who used to run past our door are now grown up with families of their own. The shop space is modest and simple. We don’t have much in the way of fancy glass displays or bright lights. We just put our things out where people can see them and go from there. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons during the summer, so we have a couple of old fans going that mostly just move the warm air around the room. The street outside is usually a mess of parked bikes and people walking, especially when the weather is nice. We spend our days mostly handling the inventory and chatting with whoever walks through the door to escape the sun. It’s not a fast-paced environment at all. We prefer to take things as they come. If a customer wants to talk for twenty minutes about their family or the weather, we’re happy to listen and chat back. That’s just how things are done here in the Madar Gate area. We don't have a big corporate structure or any strict rules about how to talk to people. We’re just regular folks running a business.
