T S B Bricks Udhyog is situated right off the Jaipur Road, near the Sahadriya By Pass Road. It is a dusty kind of place, which I guess you would expect for a business that deals with bricks. The sun beats down on the yard all day long, and you can see the stacks of red and brown blocks lined up in rows. We spend a lot of time out there in the heat, watching the trucks come and go from the bypass. It is not a glamorous job, and the work is pretty heavy, but it keeps us busy. The small office on site is usually filled with a bit of grit that blows in through the door. We have a simple desk and a couple of chairs where we handle the orders and talk to the drivers. The sound of the traffic from the main road is always there in the background, a constant hum that we don't even notice anymore. We don't have any big mission statements or glossy brochures to hand out to people. We just make sure the bricks are ready when they need to be. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather turns bad, but usually, there is plenty to do. It’s just us, the dust, and the long road heading out towards Jaipur, doing the same thing day in and day out. We just keep stacking them up and moving them out to where they need to go.
