Ritu Bricks Pvt. Ltd is based out of Bijainagar in Ajmer. Our office is actually near Hotel Ganga, which is a landmark most people around here know and use for directions. Making bricks is what we do. It’s an old-fashioned business and it’s a lot of outdoor work. The weather in Ajmer can be really tough, especially in the middle of the year when the sun is beating down on the stacks. We don't have a fancy office building with glass walls. We spend most of our time out where the actual work happens, near the soil and the water. It’s dusty and there is a lot of heavy lifting for the guys. We’ve been doing this for years and we know which clay works and which doesn't. We aren't trying to be some giant company that is all over the news. We just want to make sure the bricks are solid and that people get what they paid for when they are building their shops or houses. Sometimes the heavy rain slows us down during the monsoon, and that can be a real headache, but we work around it. It’s a very basic kind of life. We talk to the laborers, check the heat in the kilns, and manage the tractors and trucks. There aren't any big speeches or corporate strategies here. We just make bricks and sell them to folks nearby. It’s honest work and it keeps our families fed.
