About Pushkar Palace – Hotels, Motel & Resorts in Ajmer
We are located right at Chhoti Basti, looking over Pushkar Lake. It is an old spot and there is plenty of history inside these walls. Most days it is just us keeping the place tidy and making sure folks have a room to stay in. The lake is right there, so you hear the bells and the chanting from the ghats all the time. It gets very loud during the big festivals, but that is just how it is around here. We do not do anything fancy, just standard rooms and a bit of a view if you are in the right spot. The stone floors usually stay cool even when it is very hot outside. Sometimes the monkeys come by, so we have to watch the windows and keep them shut. We have lived in Pushkar a long time, so we know the shortcuts through the narrow lanes. It is a bit of a maze around Chhoti Basti but you get used to it after a day or two. The palace has been around for ages. We just keep the lights on and the tea ready for whoever arrives. Usually, guests just sit on the terrace and watch the water for hours. Nothing much happens, and that is fine with us. We try to keep things simple. It is an old building, so expect a few creaks and some dust here and there. We just do our work and go home to our families.
