Amar Pan Bhandar

Amar Pan Bhandar is located on Ajmer Purani Mandi Road. This is the old part of the city. The streets are narrow and the buildings are very close together. You can feel the age of the place when you walk around here. Our shop is part of that old feeling. We haven't changed much over the years. The wooden counter is the same one my father used. It’s got scratches and marks that tell a story. We don't try to look modern or anything like that. We just stay as we are. The morning starts with the sounds of the mandi waking up. There’s a lot of shouting and moving of goods. We open up our doors and wait for the first customers. It’s a steady flow of people throughout the day. Some are in a hurry and some like to linger and talk. We don't have any fancy slogans. People come here because they know us. We are just a small part of the Purani Mandi community. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles, but we don't mind. It’s just how things go here. We aren't looking to expand or anything big. We just want to keep the shop going and serve the people who walk down this old road. It’s home to us and we've been here long enough to know everyone.
