Amar Hair Dresser

We’ve been here in Badi Basti for a while now. The shop is right on Pushkar Road. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular spot where people get their hair cut. I open up early, sweep the floor, and get the towels ready. Most of our customers live nearby and stop in while they are out running errands or heading home. We have a few chairs and big mirrors that have seen better days. It gets busy on weekends, especially in the mornings when everyone wants to look sharp. Sometimes people just come in to sit and chat for a bit while they wait. We do shaves and haircuts mostly. I try to keep the place clean, but hair gets everywhere by the end of the day. The light coming in from the street is nice in the afternoons. It’s a simple life here. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. If you are walking down Pushkar Road, you’ll see our sign. There isn’t much to say other than we work hard and try to do a decent job for whoever sits in the chair. It’s just how things are in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. We take things as they come and try to keep a steady hand. It’s just a normal shop on a normal street.
