Aalishan Sangemarmar

Aalishan Sangemarmar is out on Kishangarh Paryavaran Marg in Madanganj. If you know this part of Rajasthan, you know it’s all about the stone and the marble. Our place is right in the middle of it all. There is a lot of dust in the air most days because that’s just the way it is when you’re dealing with Sangemarmar. We spend our time moving heavy slabs around and talking to truck drivers who are heading out to different parts of the country. The yard is big and open, and the sun can be really strong in the middle of the day. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning; we just have a small desk where we keep the papers and a few chairs for when someone wants to sit down and talk about a load. It’s hard work and your hands are always grey from the stone dust by the time evening rolls around. We’ve seen a lot of different types of marble come through here over the years. Some of it is really nice and some is just for basic flooring. We don’t try to act like we’re some big corporation. We’re just a local business in Madanganj trying to get the stone out to people who need it. The road outside is usually crowded with tractors and big lorries, so it can get pretty loud and chaotic, but that’s just the life here in the marble hub.
