Shri Krishna Engineering Works

Our workshop is over at Plot No. M-26 in the MIDC area of Ahmednagar. It’s a typical engineering shop. We’ve got the usual lathes and drills you’d expect. The floor has seen better days, stained with oil and marked by heavy parts being moved around. We don’t have a big office. There’s just a small desk in the corner where we keep the papers. Mostly, we are out there with the machines. Ahmednagar gets quite dusty, so we’re always wiping things down. We take on whatever engineering jobs come our way, from simple turning to more involved repairs. It’s mostly local work. People from nearby factories bring us their broken parts or ask us to make something new from a sketch. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Word of mouth works best for us. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a breather. It’s a noisy place, but we’re used to it. The lights flicker sometimes when the big motors start up. It’s just how the shop runs. We don't try to make things look better than they are. It’s a place for metalwork and sweat. We’ve been in this spot for years and know all the other shop owners on this road. It’s a tough business but it keeps us going.
